they all fit somewhere, so please Help us find those connections, and
to fill in the blanks!
-
Pass On ZellTree links to your

-
Know that information is held
confidential; we publish names-ONLY of living individuals, not
dates nor places nor eAddies nor anything else, not until we

My own personal research gaps:
- My personal interest focuses on
"Mike" - John Michael Zellhoefer, b.1825 in Bavaria.
Much of our family lore about Mike and his families has proven
terribly wrong. I'm on the right path now to fix it all, but
have some tough gaps:
- Mike seems to belong in the family of Johann
Joseph & Anna nee:Hofmann Zellhoefer of Brachbach, k.NEA,
Mittelfranken. However, the LDS IGI names his counterpart as
John Konrad, and gives a birth-date 4 months off.
- Mike didn't migrate with the others in
1846. He was on the list but marked off, remaining in Bavaria
another 7 years. We don't know why - was he in military service?
- Mike was "single"in March 1853 when
he migrated to Wisconsin.
- Mike's first marriage was to "Anna"
<unknown> of Urphertshofen, nNEA, Mittelfranken. No
marriage record for Mike/Anna exists in Wisconsin. Did Mike
& Anna go together to America? Did they marry on the
ship? I've never found any Z. on any ship's passenger list; that
might be the magic help needed on Mike and Anna!
- Now in Wisconsin, Mike/Anna had a son Fredrick
b.1854, then a daughter Annie b.1856/57, and finally the twins George
Martin & Catherine Sophia, Anna dying in the twin's
childbirth.
- Mike, new wife Elnora, and all four of Mike's
children are listed in the 1860 census record. Mike died in
1865, and in the 1870 census record Elnora has none of Mike/Anna's
children in her household. It seems all four children were given
for adoption, but the search for adoption records has found nothing,
and is now on the last try.
- Quite certainly the twins went to Klotz of
Sauk County, Wisconsin. There is nothing but vague possible
clues as to who might have taken Fredrick and Annie.
- All we know of Fredrick was his birth in 1854.
- Annie reappears in 1878, marrying Frank
SHERRARD, living in Chicago, and they having a son Frank Jr. We
have no documents to verify that this was actually our Annie
Zellhoefer, among the problems being a spelling variation in her
surname.
- If more about our "lost" Fredrick
and Anna is ever to be found, such might be in some dusty old family
record of ROETHEL, LIPPERT, BOGIE, PFEIFFER, PFEIFER, RAMMELT /
RUMMEL, MARKE / MARKERT, FREIDEL, ANDREW, FLORINE or QUICK. All
these surnames have some connection to ZellTree, some uncertain, and
most are descendants of the union of Mike/Elnora.
- Anything might help - PLEASE eMail RonKZ!
