St Peter's Church & cemetery, Helenville,
Wisconsin
eMail from Henry Gaugert, Watertown, Wisconsin, USA;
(a PFEIFER descendant, but no connection known) |
The Church on the hill is St. Peter's . The Cemetery was
the parish's at one time. But then they changed it to Evergreen
Cemetery, and it is owned (?) taken care of by the town. All of the
original Pfeifer Family members are buried there.
These are burials that I have from the cemetery records. The Records
were made some time ago. Many of them may not have stones visible any
longer. They were layed down (on purpose), and covered up, "So they
could mow easier". There a couple of rows of stones right next to
the church, that are underground.

The Only Marriage: The Spelling of his name is obviously incorrect. But
it is the same guy. I must have deciphered the record inforectly. Or had
a typo.

As I said last time the original book >From before the 1880's was
destroyed.
The only other church in Helenville was Zion Lutheran which broke off of
St. Peter's. It is only a cemetery now. The church is gone. I don't
believe there was every any other churchs. Not that I have heard of
anyway.
